Default Biggest tire that will fit where the spare goes?

Does anybody know what the biggest size tire that will fit where the stock spare goes?
I have an '89, and a 225/75 R15 fits, but is kinda tight....
Will a 30 x9.5 x15 fit?
If not, what will I need to do to mod it so it will fit?
Thanks!

As Nick says you may need to alter the stock bracket.

I have a 30x9.50 back there now with no problems. you need to take the metal "stud" out of the bottom hole and transfer it to the top hole in the bracket to make it fit correctly. I still have a tiny bit of room left. I need to get my 31" spare mounted and hopefully I can fit it back there without too much problem

When I get my 30x9.5's, it looks like the spare should fit.....If I have to, I'll but a zig-zag bend in the stud or something.
I just want to avoid a "YouTube Moment"...blowing out the back hatch glass when closing the hatch...

I have a 30 x 9.5" in the spare... and it fits tight...fully inflated,, you might stuff a 31.. but it will be very very hard and you might need to deflate the tire a bit
