tj spring would drop you an inch

zj v6 springs are the same

zj rear springs will drop you 3in

zj v8 are same length higher spring rate (good for .75 lift)

zj v8 "up country" are 1in longer with higher spring rate (1.75 of lift)

Make sure if you do go witha shorter spring up front you get an icreased spring rate to compensate, so it wont get into the fender.

for the rear i would sugest doing a bastard pack and then doing the spring under conversion. It would make it super stable, no axle wrap, and would drop you about 2in.

Are you actually guna do somethign to the motor or just leave it stock? Also poly motor mounts and trans mount would make a world of difference to

thats ok. not a good idea to put them in the front. but hey not really a good idea to lower a cherokee.

If i was guna lower a cherokee for a racer, it would probably be using a big block chevy engine as my lowering device

I say tube the front and run a Mustang II front suspension and brakes. With that you will have A-Arms up front and better brake options.

For the rear you will need to tub and c-section to make room for the axle to tuck into. Build some custom shock and spring mounts. Add a Ford 9" rear narrowed to fit some dot drag slicks under her.

I second the idea of a BB Chevy in it. Its only money right?

When all said and done you will a lowered Cherokee able to hit 11's no problem.

i don't understand everyone's contempt for sporty cherokees. why not prove this vehicles ability in something else then 4 wheel driving? if it was legal to run a cherokee in the scca, i would run one. they are quick and turn great. most cars don't have that combination. run a 16" rim with a 50 or 60 series tire that is 8 or 10" wide in the back and put some thick sway bars on one of these and you could really embarrass alot of people. run a standalone engine management like megasquirt and you can free up some hp and hten you have the ability to turbo or supercharge easily.

just imagine having a cherokee that will pick the front wheels up at hte light or something like that. how sweet would that be? if i didn't have my little 91 318 as a sports car i would find a 2 wheel drive cherokee or commanche and build something like that.

there is more then just 4x4ing in this world. just because you haven't done it or don't enjoy it, don't make negative comments about stuff like this.

sorry, i tire of reading people saying dumb **** just cause they don't do it or like it

I would just get a MJ rear axle for the spring under then cut your front coils down and bump stop the heck out of it cheep and it'll work. I wouldn't worry to much about the axle hitting the oil pain. In my trail rig my bump stop is my oil pain lol. Its been that way for 2 years. You will have to relocate the 02 sensor to the back of the down pipe. You just need a bolt to go were the sensor use to go and a nut to weld on the back side after you drill a hole. Good luck and post picks!
