What are some of the best offroad lights, there's too many to choose. Im looking to place 2 up on the front grille guard and 4 on top of the roof rack

lightforce. they are polycarbonate instead of plastic/steel and glass. way tougher. They have some BA lights. and you can get "filters" to change the color if you want. I know yellow is awesome if you drive in the snow, they have all sorts.

The way I see it is that unless I am running Baja where you can "outrun" your light source a cheap set of lights is fine. Especially if there is a chance they are going to be bashed, why spend so much $$$ on a light to smash it on a rock or tree? Maybe I am cheap, but I have never had a problem with the cheap lights not giving me enough light to see. I typically do not wheel at night, I do however live in the country where wild game and livestock tend to be in the road.

I think he means your stopping distance being farther than the area that is lit up.

But I just got a set of Bosch lights that came on '86-'89 Ford Rangers. For 25 bucks on ebay, they work excellent. Certainly brighter than the cheap 'baja' lights the auto stores sell.

I feel the best answer to this depends on some things, if money is not an issue, I say go with Lightforce as well, quality brand. I have KC series 57 lights on my front bumper that are great, and cheap BAJA lights from Autozone on my roof rack.... both work great for my needs at this time, but i'm def. looking to upgrade the roof lights soon, possibly KC Daylighters. i've heard nothing but great things about them.

Right... the light does not give you enough time to stop or react to obstacles in the road.

I had some on my 82 Chevy and busted them while pushing an old for pickup around the property. I never replaced them though and just stuck with my KC style lights that did not get damaged.

IPF lights are really good. My friend has some of the rectangle ones found on quadratec.com and they have a really nice beam pattern. Its like a combination of a fog light and driving light, since the light has two different lenses.

i like KC daylighters, have those on our tj's.
but if i wanted to spend the money, i'd get some warn 210 dual beams.

i have IPF on my bumper of my tj also. they're hooked up to my factory fog switch.

i don't wheel my xj at night much, so i don't have any off road lights on it. yet.
when i do, i'll just get KCs, they rock for the price.
