Default Best head gasket set and bolts

Doing the head swap on an 01 cherokee xj in the near future with either a clearwater or promaxx head, still undecided. But want to get the head gasket/valve cover/exh/int mani gasket set ordered up along with the head bolts.

Wonder what set of gaskets and bolts you guys recommend?

Found the Fel-Pro sets fairly easily.

Fel-Pro Hs9076Pt4 Head Gasket Set

Fel-Pro ES 71102 Cylinder Head Bolt Set

Thanks!

I've used both the Fel Pro head set and head bolts with good results. Everything fit and worked like OEM.

Hey thanks t.mcginley.jr, I appreciate the quick answer.

Are the listed part numbers correct for the 2001 cherokee sport?

Or are there different gasket sets/bolt sets for different year xj's?

Fel-Pro head gasket set HS9076PT4 or HS26211PT will work, I think the second one just comes with an MLS head gasket instead of a composite one. Either will work though, I think I used the HS9076PT4 for mine.

Fel-Pro head bolt set ES71102 is correct. Remember to put RTV/gasket sealer on the one head bolt that sticks into the water jacket. If you're looking at the front of the engine its the very first bolt on the right side. There's also 2 head bolts with blank studs at the top, they hold the valve cover gasket in place so make sure you have them in the right spots. Just use the valve cover gasket as a guide, it will be pretty obvious.

Victor Reinz makes a MLS HG and new replacement bolts. Got it at autozone.

Victor Reinz MLS HG #54249

Go to RockAuto.com They have everything you need and more. Best prices.

Better yet, get the Victor Reinz HS5713A top end set (includes all needed gaskets) and add the head bolts GS33414, total $105 and $10 shipping.

fel pro gaskets. I've used ARP head bolts in the past, fel pro should work.
