The bolt goes through the bracket then into a threaded "chunk" of metal that the pulley bolts into as well. Just take the pulley off then unthread the adjustment bolt and replace it with one from a junkyard XJ. The adjustment bolt is not a standard bolt as it sits in a hole in the bottom of the bracket to keep it aligned. Easy job to do, you can remove the efan pretty quickly to make it much easier to get the pulley off.

The tensioner adjustment Bolt is OEM part number 6503198. MSRP $7.50.

If you need it, the Tensioner Adjustment Collar is part number 53010149. MSRP $7.20.

Dealer.

Junk yard parts are just that: Junk.

junk yard parts are much like art supplies, in the right hands they become a master piece.

Where did you get the bolt? Local dealership? Looks like they popped one in your ****, price wise. Parts from the dealer always takes several days to get because they come from warehouses/distribution centers. I've had to wait five days to get one part because it came from the west coast. Normally two days from the local warehouse or Cleveland.

Here's the site I use to get MSRP pricing.

http://www.wholesalemopar.com/parts_...FRJBDQod4Dr6oA

The MSRP prices they quote are pretty close to what my local dealship charges.

I haven't looked at a 2001. On my 97 and 93 you slide the red clip sideways, squeeze and pull apart. Is yours different?
