i have a 97 cherokee xj. i bought a belt last winter and it never really made a noise (or maybe it did but i could hear it) but now that its cold, everytime i start it up it is pretty loud. squeels for about 10 min or pretty much until it warms up. and then it stops. it only happens when i start it up cold. any help? i heard it may be to loose or to tight. how do i know if its tight or loose. please help

 

It could be the tensioner pulley mine does that too. If u can get someone to start it while you watch it, the pulley will wiggle a bit. If it does, there is the culprit. Need to replace if so.
