Default Belt squeals on start up only after idle replacement.

I have the worst luck with my belt. Idler was making noise, so I replaced, all was quit for about a week. Not every time I start the Jeep it squeals loudly for about 10 seconds or until I give it gas. What did I do wrong? Is the tension too tight or the pulley belt to tight?

Tension may not be tight enough. These belts like to be TIGHT! Belts stretch a little in the first week or so of driving.

It sound like you need to re-tighten your belt. I know that every time that I had to change out mine in any of my XJ's after about a week I had to re-tighten them. I am only guessing that it take about that long for the belt to settle in and needs to be adjusted. After I made the second adjustment the problem always seem to go away and not return until the next time for a change out.
