Default Beep when key on contact and door opened

Hi,

Is there an easy way to not have the car beep when the key is on the contact and the driver door is opened, this is really driving me mad.

The car is a Jeep Cherokee 98 2.5L Petrol 5 doors 4x4 manual

Thanks.

Without looking at a wiring diagram you can just open the door and see the black button. You can either clean the area and apply duct tape to hold the button down or you can remove it and look at the wires to see how they work. By observing the wiring and if there are 2 wires exposed you can add some foil (AL) and cross the wires. If you want a permanent thing cut the wires and cross them.

Perfect, works for me, I thought as fuse could be remove or something similar, but I like that idea of connecting the wires, thanks a lot!

Ok, I bought the tools today to remove the screen holding the door switch. There are three wires coming to the switch. I suppose on is + one is - and another is ground? I'm really starting into this, so how do I go about finding out which two wires should be connected together?

If you just disconnect it and put it back in the hole it will not beep anymore. There is a buzzer you can pull I believe but not positive where it is at. Disconnecting it or cutting the wires will make your dome light not work when you open the door. Keep that in mind when you are doing this.

Ha I see, didn't think of the lights, I don't really want to loose this. I would prefer to find a way to disable only the buzzer, I will see if I can find where it is located and if anything else is using it. But my guess is that it's also used when you leave your lights on... Sounds like I can't just remove the beep when I open the door without affecting anything else. Thanks!
