I just went throught the same exact thing. I took the belt off and spun everything by hand. The idlerpully made noise so it got replaced, still had the other noise. Turned out the waterpump which spun smoothly by hand would grind and chatter once I removed it. It was the source of the noise.

it wasnt a legit junk yard, it was like an import place that had one jeep there. so i went and pulled it off ha

my local yard got bought by shnitzer steel a **** company that owns all the pic n pulls prices have tripled around here on everything. Im more likely to buy a parts car now days then atleast i can scrap the hulk
