Battery unhooked a few days, now hard start and intermittent rough idle

I know you cleaned the ground sites. Possibly actually replace the wires? Or run extra grounds? Also, have you checked your cap and rotor? If it's been sitting a bit, might be corroded? I'm trying to suggest cheap fixes. Keep us posted.

Problem solved
Boy do I feel stupid now. So I really didn't want to believe it was coincidental that the jeep started running bad after I unhooked the battery. So for that reason I didn't bother with the obvious. I remembered when I took the plugs out either #5 or 6 was a little wet. Remembering this I swapped over the cap rotor and wires from my 99. Still ran like doo doo. So I pulled wire off #6 and it ran the same. Then pulled wire from only #5 and it was hard to tell but seemed worse. So I took a plug out of my other 98 and popped it in cylinder 6 and bam! No more skip. So I put new plugs in my other 98 and now have spares in case the rest go bad for now. Now I let it idle for about 30 minutes and check engine light on for p0455. The ratchet is very close to the purge solenoid while changing #6 plug and I tend to rest my arm near there while changing the plug so hopefully it's something easy but that's a new thread. Thanks for all the help everyone. It helped me get back down to earth and keep it simple. On the plus side I have new battery terminals and cleaner grounds.
