Default battery/engine ground wiring

I own 2 '91 Cherokees and both of them seem to have 3 different grounds. One comes off the battery to the sheet metal of the fender. Another comes off the battery and runs to the engine block. And last, one comes off the block and runs to the sheet metal of the firewall. I'm rerunning all the battery cables and just wondering if all these grounds are necessary. I know the ground from the block to the firewall is but what about the two grounds off the battery? Do I need both of them or can I get by with just one?
Thanks...

The 2 smaller are needed to ground the chassis. This cannot be done with the engine ground because of the motor mounts. they are made of metal and Poly-Urethane/ rubber.

The better Grounding you have the better your electrical system is. You should beef up the ones you have a maybe add a few more to ground it all together better.

grounds are extremely important, if anything upgrade those grounds to bigger wire and clean the crap out of where the grounds go
