replacing the tie rod ends. When checking out rockauto.com it appears there are two different kinds.
Left hand and right hand threads and 11/16 - 18 and 22m treads.

Think I got it figured out...are there 3 I should get? Right inner, left outer and At pitman?

How would I know which ones to get?

94 4x4 6c sport all stock suspension. Thanks.

If you are looking at stock, there are three:
1. left out TRE (11/16-18)
2. right out TRE (this will be the long connecting bar)
3 Pitman arm TRE (22m tread)

Are you planning on doing any upgrades to your XJ in the future? Bigger tires? Lift? If you are, might as well just upgrade which will only be like another $20-$30 more for the grand cherokee components.

Actually, there are 4, if you include the right outer tie rod, aka drag link. They are usually just a bit more than the other 3 tie rod ends and it just makes sense to replace all 4.

^x2

I replaced all four of mine from Rock Auto, including the one integrated into the drag link. I kept all of the old ones in a box to carry if I go on trail and have a failure. A worn tie rod is better than a broken or bent one

Ok so that explains the longer looking one. Thanks for the info everyone. Will go ahead and include that one as well as the others. Hopefully that will fix the clunking noise I'm hearing when I turn. (not u joints or hubs as those have all been replaced recently)
