Finally i have bought my first cherokee for the grand total of £795 ( $1200 ) which is great to say its a "95 4.0 limited with only 76,000 miles.
however its not all rosy...!
Immobilizer
drains battery when left overnight, to the extent it wont start!
what could it be :S?
its seems like somethings being retro fitted into the existing system like almost hot-wired, cause the car has no key fobs ( remote central locking / immobilizer)
so i think its to bypass the system but can be sure
this then leaves me with not enough battery to get the engine turning over, just makes the side lights flash
im so confused please any help so much appreciated!
door weld
the top hinge has broke free held by bottom hinge, how hard it to weld?
any help would be very much appreciated!
cheers, alex

anything can be welded ... just depends on whats left to weld to.. and what you need to add to make it strong again...
You need to look the wiring over.. see if its spliced anyplace.. or all choped up...
Post pics of anything you find...

Sounds like a short in your wiring somewhere but i wouldnt know were to start looking. As far as welding, pay somebody so you know it's done right. Plus welders are pricey, especially if its not gonna be used a lot (unless you already have one).
this might be a long shot but it was causing my battery drain if you have a electric arial turn off your jeep and listen for a clicking relay and humming noise of the motor its not very loud because the arail is already down and the moter is not turning its just being energized for the 3 or four seconds mine kept doing it all night causing a dead battery

Until you can figure it out how hard would it be to put a batter disconnect switch inline? I welded the top hinge on my Cherokee but to get at it properly required removing the front fender. Never did quite get it right but it`s close enough to close the door with a bit more of a slam.

fair, ive thought about welding it cause ive got a MIG set but im going to get my local jeep mechanic to weld it back in straight. the cd player refuses to work at all wont even turn on but yet my 6cd changer is still powered...
i think my battery is F***** also, just had it on a hight power charge with a professional charger and it wouldn't accept any so charge so im assuming that's knackered also..
