Default Bad vacuum leak around injector?

Did a search here along with Mr. Google and came up with nada.

Did a bunch of work on my Jeep saturday to include, plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, transmission filter + fluid, flush power steering pump and clean TB, intake, IAC etc etc.

Came away with the thing running better than ever other than an extremely high idle. I'm talking doing 45-50 mph with my foot off the gas idle. Its late so I leave it for Monday after work.

I check the TPS and its working within spec. Spray TB cleaner around all the vacuum lines and can't find a leak. Take the intake tubing back off and fire it up and there's tons of air going through the IAC (whistling extremely loudly). Bad IAC I think so I go get one and put it on. That makes it better, but still not fixed. Whistling is gone and the idle is lower but still enough to do 25 mph with foot off the gas.

So today I go out and spray even more TB cleaner widening my area. It seems like an issue with the #1 injector. If I spray around where the injector enters the intake manifold it settles down for a bit.

Now I'm assuming its just an O-ring but I wanted to make sure there's no chance its the injector itself leaking badly enough.

My fuel pressure does seem to leak down and new injectors are one my list so maybe its time I just went ahead and got some....

if its stumbling when you spray around the one injector, then you found your problem.

Its just a cheerio sized o-ring that seals the injector to the manifold. you could try removing the injector and clean up and dirty around the hole. but o-rings are pretty cheap so ya might as well throw a set of those on while youre in there

Ok thanks.

Injectors look factory original with 21 years and 270k on them so I'll just go ahead and get new ones to go along with the new O rings

May as well since I gotta take the whole thing apart anyway....
