yeah ive always wondered about bump stops also... like what size your looking for when lifting and i guess they are there just to stop your tires from pushing up into the sheetmetal right?

Not only. Leaf springs are made of harmonic steel that responds elastically linear only up to a certain flex. After that amount of flex it goes in the plastic non linear deformation. Bump stops keep the leaf springs in the elastic area.
For a general norm, leaf springs should never flex more than the installed lift.

what if you go with a stock like leaf lift... aka s10 springs... it gives roughly 5in so you dont want it to flex up more then 5 inches? or whatever stock s10's let them?

Correct, but you are forgetting that the 5 inch travel is for flex in and flex out, on the other wheel you will have the contrary, this gives you 10 inches of total flex summed to the 10 inches of the front axle in a twist = 20 inches of elevation that corresponds to an almost 45° angle between the two axles.

Never give a negative arch to leaf springs unless you have parabolic leafs.

If you don't have any problems then why are you asking for informations? or is it just to strut about your rig, grow up man.

That's because he sounded more interested in showing off his rig than wanting to know things, maybe i'm wrong but just reread the whole thread from the beginning to have a better idea of what i'm talking about.
