I tried a hacksaw and sawzall and it ate the blades in like 10 seconds without a scratch in the bearing.

You sure you have it assembled properly? The Powerbuilt one seems very flimsy until you get it installed and tighten the giant nut down. Or take it back and try somewhere else, or tell them it's a piece of junk and ask for another tool... ? You're not going to be able to cut the bearing out lol

Well the axle puller wouldn't fit my hub and the bearing puller doesn't get wide enough. The threads don't match up with the slide hammer either. It's like they're out to get me

Apply some heat with a propane torch and squirt some PB Blaster on the bearings. You can just heat up the outside of the axle tube where the bearing is. Try that a few times and then get a larger slide hammer. Like I said, mine were REALLY in there. It took me a long time to get the bearing out. Just keep at it. When you finally get it out, clean inside real good with a rag and use some grease while installing the new bearings. You've got to think about how long those bearings have been in there. The new ones will go in A LOT easier than the old ones came out.

Fantastic news everyone! I replaced my bearing and the seal and it still clunks around! The shaft had a shiny spot where the bearing and seal go so I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or if it's worn down.

Was there a groove worn into the axle shaft?

Was the groove about 5/8 of an inch wide and pitted?

No. The shaft is bad. That worn out shaft will destroy the new bearing you just installed within 100 miles.

It's only pitted about a millimeter so I hope I have a bit more time than 100 miles

Start looking for a shaft or a shaft saver bearing soon. The shaft saver bearing will cost a lot less than a new shaft.
