Question back spacing ?

1.Gettin ready to order RC X-Series lift & they recommend wheels with 4.5" backspacing why is it recommended for road handling?2.Will I have to do flares?3.If I go less bad idea?

it is recommended for max articulation and for stabilizability. the higher the number the more the tires stick out. stock is 3.75 i think (or pretty close to it). i would also recommend looking at their new long arm kit cause they r not much more and have alot better stuff in them

4.5" back spacing is just right for sufficient flexibility and stability... You also have the option to add trimmed flares...

I'd go with a 4" - 4.5" on this one

The bigger the backspacing the closer the wheel is to the inside of the fenders. the smaller the backspacing the further they stick out because there is less room in the back lol hence back spacing
