I have learned something new. That's good info to keep in the noggin when doing a little jy pillaging. I misread my research info that said all 95 and up are larger u-joint, and missed the statement about ABS on the 89-95 models. But having a Limited does absolutely guaratee that it has ABS. You have to remember that AMC and Chrysler during those years would allow the customer to add or delete options from each trim package.

I don't think you could change a limited
you could add to a lesser package but a limited wouldn't be a limited without abs

Yep it has ABS and I hate it!!!!!!!!!!
The sensor trigger wheels are rusted up and the sensors are always losing the signal. When I have to stop quickly it does a dive and weave as the brain tries to figure out how fast each wheel is going. Tempted to just cut the wires and let the system default to standard braking.
No disco and they are the larger ujoints as I had to exchange the ones the parts shop gave me. too small, seems their book doesn't show a difference for the limited.
I'm going to remove the hubs and axles from the 91 wednesday night and bring them with me when I pick up the 98. If the work great. If not I'll just remove the axle.
I don't understand why mudeprived says you need to have an axle connected to the spindle yoke. The axles just slide into the ring carrier. There is no c clip or anything holding the axles inplace other than the ujoint connected to the spindle. In theory I should be able to drive all day without the axles.
Just so everyone knows I will NOT be removing the spindle from the hub bearing when I remove the ujoints. Bit of a pain in the ***, when all I have to do is remove the 3 bolts holding the hub assemble to the steering knuckle and slide the whole shebang out. I will however remove the front driveshaft.

Uhaul won't rent me one. Says I can't haul a jeep with a jeep! Need to get it fast you wouldn't believe me how little I'll be paying for this and don't want to lose it!

just unplug the sensors from the box under the back seat the brakes work fine you will just get the check abs light no big deal

So thats what that box is. Never felt the need to figure it out.
Just gonna be a parts jeep soon. Maybe. hmmm there are some good trails near here..................

I would tow it with my f250 if you were close
but you are just a little to far

its not like towing it with a car dolly is unsafe. you just have to be careful. i tow cars for a living and towed three times that weight with a f350
