Axle bearings
Hi all,
i have a ‘96 Cherokee with a Dana 35. I need axle bearings and been comparing.
Q/ is the spicer 35 in a 96 Grand cherokee same unit as my Dana 35?
the bearing I’d prefer to use is listed for the Spicer 35 grand Cherokee but not under my 96 XJ Dana 35 Cherokee ?

It should be the same. Buy from a brick and mortar parts store if you are concerned so that turns aren't a problem.

Engine: Toyota 2.4l diesel non-turbo (from a 1985 pickup) installed in 2009
Where would you see a listing like that? Is the listing mixing up front
and rear bearings?
Front bearings for 91-01 XJs are always sealed. The rear bearings
should always use the axle diff oil.
The SKF repair bearing is wider than stock and is used where there has
been damage to the axle shaft and/or tube from previous bad bearings.
SKF should also have a normal bearing for the D35. Timken is another
good brand.
All that said, a brand name bearing from a parts store should take
care of what you need.
