Would anyone be kind enough to tell me the proper lengths of the front and rear driveshafts of an AX-15 cherokee with an 8.25 rear? I'm doing a swap and need to know how much to get mine lengthened/shortened.

But first, what transfer case do you have?

 

Stock height will be different from lifted height in length.

I wonder how much driveshaft shortening/lengthening costs...

 

I swapped in a D44 into my '98, I also put in the shaft from the donar rig, it measured 26 1/4" the 8.25 shaft was about 1/2" shorter, The front shaft is the stock shaft, it measures 25 3/4 at 3.5" of lift, the long part of the shaft weld to weld is 18" the short end at the axle is 5 1/2".

 

Front driveshaft

From yoke to yoke. 29 inches

Rear driveshaft

From yoke to yoke 29 inches plus 5-6 inches for the slip yoke. Total 35 inches-ish
