Anyone replaced the speed sensor on the AW4? What a PITA! Spent two hours under the '87 Cherokee 4X4 with a 10mm box end wrench. Sensor is held in place with a 10mm bolt. The sensor cable is thick and covers the bolt head so need to get under it with a wrench. Problem is the whole thing is covered by a plate with "Access holes" but these are next to useless. Tried to take the cover plate off but it's all holding the 4WD selector linkages so don't want to mess that all up. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Reason for changing is that when the trans get's hot, the signal from the speed sensor goes to zero rpm (wheel speed) which tells the trans that the wheels are spinning and the RPM goes to 3000 +. I'm pretty sure it's the sensor acting up as it ran fine all winter and spring and as soon as the warm weather started, the problem started again.
Need advice before I bite the bullet and take it to a trans shop.
Thanks!

Says 1 to 2 hr install...http://www.quadratec.com/products/55200_0106.htm
For comparison, I checked that quadratec site and it shows that a CPS should take less than an hour. WHen I did my CPS, it probably took me almost an hour to do that so I'm thinking that there is more involved to change out that speed sensor than meets the eye. Can't find any detailed instructions on it either.
