Alright, so I guess the shift points on the aw4's are a little odd, but I was just taking a poll to see if everyone else has transmission shifts like mine.


if taking off from idle at a normal pace, at what point (mph) does your transmission shift from first gear to second? I am not familiar with what all effects this. Sorry.

Second to third? Third to fourth?

Mine is a 99 cherokee sport and I am trying to determine if my transmission is shifting in the right points.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Just from memory, 10-15 to 2nd.
Im going to my friends pretty soon... So Ill pay more attention and maybe even do a video.
shifts around 2000/2500 rpm

 

Try adjusting your TV cable, I did this and now my transmission shifts like a dream. Should be some threads on here.

 

i had adjusted it already and it didntt make much difference. i watched it a little while ago and it goes to 2nd about 15 mph or so. third about 30 ish and fourth at like 45 to 50. sound normal for stock?

 

sounds about right... Ill post a video, mine shifts exactly the same as my girlfriends 96 so Id say its a good example of "normal".
