Need a new Aux fan, any upgrades possible to fit into the factory spot. Was looking at the the FFD10
http://www.ffdynamics.com/FFD10b.html
I will pay more if there is a direct fit.
Not looking to covert my clutch fan nothing wrong with it.
Anything simple let me know.

I believe the stock auxilary electric fan pulls around 2400 CFM.
The fan you linked is only 1100 CFM.

Just go with a factory fan from a 97 or newer, and you should be just fine.

Ok seems the 2001 Mopar one is the better choice for now.

Been there done that, way to loud for me. At idle it was fine at idle but when you gave it gas after 2k rpm sounded ridiculous loud.

What's his face here has the best write up for putting the electric fan on a switch. So you can leave it on for an extra few minutes. No need to upgrade it. Unless you don't have the 97+ 10 blade fan

Ok, in the future I am going to hook up an automatic delay timer for the electric fan. I'll just stick with the factory 10 blade aux fan.
The reason I was asking for was if there was a upgrade for the aux then I could do this but better. I don't want a manual switch, I am trying to find out what adjustable thermostat switch that I can splice into the fan so everything is automatic.

To play devils advocate, why don't you want a manual switch, worried you'll leave it on or don't want te trouble.

I ask because the write up uses a double throw switch where as when up, it works stock like no mod was done, in center position it's off for water crossings and when down it stays on

Since I am going to put a delay timer on the factory aux on the passenger side I don't want a manual switch to turn on the electric fan that replaced the fan clutch. Plus it would look a lot cleaner if I had a adjustable thermostat that was preset up to go on at 180°, then when needed that second one would go on factory. Plus this is all ideas I am throwing out, the only definite is I am going to put a delay timer.

Just out of curiosity what to do you expect to accomplish with the delay timer? Even if the fan runs for ten minutes after the engine stops all you'll cool is the water in the rad tubes, it won't do anything really for cooling water in the side tanks.

I just moved to a hotter place so the timer is just to push the heat from under the hood out, nothing fancy but it seems that it will work.

Yea I guess, I just like making everything look factory.
The biggest problem I see how does the controller tell the temperature of the coolant. Is it done by a probe or is there a wire that you splice into the coolant temp sensor?
