Stay away from the autozone clutch fan, put it in two weeks ago and started making noise two days ago, today i had to take back, clutch powder all over it. I shoulda know when i put it on in spun fast and loud all the time.
First one was a torqueflo made in korea, they gave me a new one same brand but made in china and casting is totally different and so far already seems better but id go napa or dealer next time.

$36.99 the same price, it's made in the U.S.A. and fits perfect! Now I go to O'Reilly's. Auto Zone is the dollar store of auto parts stores.

Autozone has the ZJ heavy duty fan clutch listed as the proper part for the 96' XJ. Compare your old clutch to the new one before installing, the ZJ clutch is about 0.25" longer and the fan must be mounted backwards to fit. Even after moving my rad back it didn't fit and I took it back. When I politely told the manager at autozone the error in their ways, the old hag told me errors like that always happen and there isn't a whole lot that can be done to correct it. Right. Anyway the 92' XJ fan clutch is listed correct in their system for my 96' at least.

Mine fit just had a bigger circumfrence,sp? It would run crazy loud and fast, i could hear it at 70 floored. I didnt notice it cause i did the water pump belt and flushed coolant system so i was distracted about size, but like i said it fit fine juust kept squealing after a few days

AZ had the stock fan clutch for my '91 but I opted for the ZJ fan clutch which is the upgrade. It's what you will find on here if you search "fan clutch upgrade." They tried to sell me the stock one but I insisted that I knew what I was talking about.
