Audio problems

When I bought my 99 Cherokee the driver side door speaker was the only one that worked. As time went on this became irritating so I figured I'd fix it. So today I took out the deck and noticed the terrible job done from the other owner. I rewired the right door speaker and bam sound. So I got excited and thought I'd put some in the rear.

I wired the back right and back left, connected the right side to a 6.5 speaker and it's working fine. Then I connect the back left 6.5 speaker and now all 4 speakers do not work. :( fail. What the heck did I do wrong?? Please help. Driving a 27 hr trip soon and will die with out tunes.

No it's an aftermarket jvc deck. The wiring it all to the correct color wires.

at the back of the radio wire the back left to the back right maybe theres a short on left rear in side radio? see if they play again

David13latham Feb 19, 2011 12:48 PM

Yes the deck is still powered on just no sound. What to you mean wire back left to right?

freegdr Feb 19, 2011 12:51 PM

the feed from speakers right rear worked take the wires from the left rear and connect them to the supply wires that power the right rear leaving the rear left supply wires with nothing connected to them in other words power both rear speakers with the right rear wires coming out of the back of the radio

I tried this and also took a speaker and connected it directly to the back of the deck with no luck.
