I had to replace some wire in the front door speaker. I also had removed part of the lower dash and the radio head when checking the issue. Before I closed everything up I made sure the speaker worked and there were no issues.

Now the radio power works but when the amp ground is attached (lower dash screw on far left near door), I get no sound in any speaker. When I detach it the sound returns but it is rough, has a slight hum underneath, and pops when turned off.

Any thoughts?

 

sounds like a positive is being ground out somewhere. maybe something came loose when you took the head unit out and when u put it back in it works until u tighten that side, probably a wire back there exposed hitting metal. i had this same problem.

 

x2 something is definitely gounding out somewhere.
