**WARNING THESE PICTURES MAYBE HARD TO LOOK AT***
Allllllllright so I bout a new $500 project. This baby needs work from the ground up I need everyone who has a 1990 Jeep Cherokee to tell me what parts are missing. The guy said something about the timing is off the fuel delivery is poor and it turns over without key and you need to prime the throttle body with gas for it to start. Fully understand that this is going to be costly but I can't wait to get it started. Diagram abd pictures of your own engine bays would be super helpful. I'm a beginner mechanic but I get how most stuff works

I believe those vacuum lines are for the Dana 30 two-piece axle shaft.

I think you overpaid. I got my 95 for $800 and drove it 2 hours home.

I dont have a 90, but kudos on the project. You've got your work cut out for you, but its always nice to see one getting rescued.

My advice, forget the vacuum locker, do the cable conversion and move on down the road.

Subbed!

Vacuum locker? Cable conversion? Can you explain what that is. Like I originally stated I'm not very well mechanically inclined. Just the basics. Thanks!

Can't you just skip this step, put on a block off plate and put a one piece shaft in place?

Hahaha - I meant to add a couple smileys so you knew I was saying so in good humor.

Hey, if you want it then you want it and it's your money. I think a lot of people would think most of us are nuts for putting any time/money into a 20+ year old vehicle.

Yes you can. There are lots of write-ups and YouTube videos on it.

Yeah but they just don't make themike they used to. Hell even the parts aren't made they way they used to be. You know our kids kids will have no idea what a standard transmission is.... That's terrifying... I love the boxy old XJs.
