Apply Gas to Start
Over this weekend I added a new XJ to the stable, it's a 98 XJ 4.0 Automatic, with only 157000 miles, in really nice shape. It has a few quirks as most XJ's do. This issue is a new one on me -
When I go to start the Jeep, I have to apply 'just a bit' of gas. If I don't it turns over but does not start. Every other modern (read fuel injected) Jeep I have owned has started great without giving it gas. I don't have to pump it or press it to the floor, just a small bump on the pedal.
Has anyone else experienced this? I expect this is a fuel issue, perhaps some kind of a sensor that kicks the fuel in when starting...
I would appreciate any advice.
