Default APN header-- To Paint or Not To Paint

My APN header is supposed to show up today. I have read some people talk about painting or wrapping their new headers.
Is this something that needs to be done?
Are there any benefits?
I can see how corrosion protection might be needed but, I've never replaced a manifold or header before.

Wrapping it can cause premature failure. Paint it with your whatever your favorite color high temp paint and enjoy

Some people on another forum have used POR 15 header/hi-temp paint with good durability. Down-side : POR stuff is expensive...

Painted mine with header paint from PepBoys. Worked great. Just follow the curing instructions.

Good luck... good choice on the Headers... I have them as well.
