Default anyone used the firestone destination mt tires?

I have a stock 1992 laredo and it's time to put tires on it. I'm buying new tires this time and have been looking at the firestone destination m/t...has anybody used them or know anything about them?? I use it 75% on road and 25 % off road, but I want more traction than I can get out of the bridgestone 31 x 10.50's that I put on used last year. I'm also going with 30 x 9.50 this time also. the 31's scrub a little when fully turned. any advice or info on tires if something would work better will be appreaciated

yup, got a set of 33's on my tj right now and had the 30's on my dakota for a while.

they hum a bit on road, but perform great offroad.

suck in the winter tho. good in deep snow, but suck on the shiny stuff.

A good friend of mine has them and has around 40k on em. Still has around 40-50% of the tread on em. He loves em and I am thinking if I go with a 31" I am going with the Firestone Destination MT..Only other tire I am considering is the Cooper SST in a 32".

glad to know they are a good tire...thats what I'm really wanting to get, but at 700.00 for 4, had to see if they was worth it. I'm in Alabama, we dont get alot of ice or snow, so I should be ok there....we have been getting so much rain lately I'm having to lock it in 4wd to get out of the front yard where I park it....lol...thanks for the info on the tires

I personally am running the A/T Destinations.
But BOTH my XJ's are primarily DD.

I did alot of research on TireRack.com before I bought the A/T's
I didn't like how the M/T's scored as opposed to the A/T's.
Besides the customer reviews seemed to favor the A/T

Don't know what the difference is betwen them except for a more agressive lug.

The KM2s are supposed to be really quite on the road! James hasn't driven them in the ice yet but so far so good.

I don't know to many MT's that aren't scary on ice.

I still can't get into the thought of over-paying for the BFG name...

Plus I had a set of the old KM's on another Jeep... LOUD and just as scary on wet surfaces. The Destinations are quite a bit better on wet pavement.

When these wear out I will most likely pick some used ones up, or a set of Tread-Wrights.. or if I can swallow the price a nice set of TSL's.. I dont drive this Jeep on the street much at all so TSL's can be back on the acceptable tire list.

One thing I dont like about the Firestone's is the sidewall.. I had one pick up a piece of a stick when I was offroading and I kept stopping to refill the tire with my portable air compressor. I got to a stretch of the road where I couldnt safely pull off and do it.. I slowed way down and got to safe spot. The sidewall showed damage on every raised lettering on the tire.

i ran the firestone at's for a while and was pleased with them. but not sure about the mt's. i run at's on my jeep now b/c most of the driving is on the highway, and those bfg's will last for quite a long time.

I had 33 inch m/t on my old jeep and loved them. They definitely left something to be desired of in snow.
