Any trailer hitches from non-XJs fit a 2000 XJ?
I'm looking for a trailer hitch for my new-to-me 2000 XJ. My local junkyards do not have many XJs, and have none with a hitch on them.
Are there trailer hitches from other vehicles that I can scavenge? Even if I have to drill some new holes, that would be ok.
TIA for helping this NOOB!

Not sure what your budget is, but you could have new one that you know will fit your Jeep for about a hundred twenty bucks, and you wouldn't have to torch cut it off of what is probably rust welded to a frame anyway.

Thanks guys.
I was hoping to grab one from either CL or a junkyard for $50 or so.
Guess I might have to buy a new one.

Junkyard tow hitches are likely to be rusted and unusable, and the fit has to be right. You do NOT want to be drilling new holes to fit the wrong tow hitch. There's more engineering there than you may realize.
Keep an eye on CL. I got a brand new one for my Jeep for $50 last year. Guy had just changed his mind.

I'll be in touch when I get closer to executing this.

I searched and picked up hitches as swap meets etc but nothing was close enough. You can buy a parts Jeep and take the hitch of that! I* bought an 88 because I needed the springs and hitch. I got the hitch off but couldn't get the receiver out of the hitch (LOL). If you go that way, you'll need lots of PB Blaster and some heat but I could get them off. I did mine without nut strips but you have to take of the rear bumper to get a wrench in and on the bolt heads (at least on an '87'88). Good luck. Jeep is great with a trailer (hardly notice utility or small boat trailer).
