Motorad sells a "fail safe" stat and they work fine... I have had 2 or 3 stats fail and fail in the closed position... it can be a bad bad thing when this happens..

Even though I sell the motorad fail safe I still used a GENUINE MOPAR stat on my rig...

remember the temp on the stat is when it BEGINS to open.. not when it is fully open

The only T-Stat I have had fail, was in my '74 Charger SE 440 in high school, it stuck closed. BTW a T-stat rated 195*, STARTS to open at 195. Not fully open at 195*. Hence a 210 operating temp in a factory stat motor in the XJ.
