Just my ramblings but if it were mine I wouldn't worry about hurting it unless you hear sounds of detonation (spark knock). Now if it were fuel and no spark, then I'd be concerned about fuel washing down the cylinder. JMO

I drove my XJ with 3 injectors leaking around a gallon a day. It's highly dangerous because you could catch your engine bay on fire but, hey, as long as you're willing to risk that it should be fine.

hey dummy. the injector doesnt work, and everything else works fine... and i said nothing about leaking. i forgot to mention its unpluged now.

if i unplug it the engine runs same...if i unplug any other it changes so i figure its the injector causeing the engine to run choppy. do all ford 5.0 injectors work for a renix 4.0...do they plug right up? i got a stock set available to me but im not sure what year they are from i think mid 90's fox body stang..

Maybe not.

There could be a valve, compression, or spark issue. Unplugging the injector will always kill the cylinder.

Test spark and compression to know for sure.

then why when i unplug the one injector the engine runs same, but all the others it changes? with that one unpluged it runs choppy and when its pluged in it still runs choppy but all the rest make it worse.

There might be another issue with that cylinder.

well each cylinder is getting sufficient spark, and oil, no smoke, no leaks, maybe ive got a issue in the head? all lifters, pushrods, and valve springs are in order...it has to be the fuel injector or injectors...i hope it is or ill be one pissed sob

well if all of them are plugged in but the bad one and it runs choppy and then you take another one out its going to get even more choppy because you have 2 cylinders not running.

But to figure out the root problem do what soldierjunkie said and test every other possible issue. Also try replacing the injector. The injector may be clogged? anything look abnormal about the injector?
