Another XJ Heater issue
My girlfriend's Jeep. 1997 Cherokee, 4.0L, Auto, AC.
I've installed a new radiator, water pump, thermostat (that makes 3 t'stats in a year, two installed while in the Jeep dealership, and one by me). The dang thing only blows marginally warm air. I wanted to be sure the core was plugged before removing the dash to replace it, so I capped off one hose from the heater core, connected a flush tee, and hooked up the garden hose; the heater core does not SEEM to be plugged....has good flow-thru. I checked the blend air door under the glove box (cable operated with the hot/cold **** on the dash); the actuator that the cable connects to on the bottom of the door seems to have 100 percent of travel. Of course, in 1997 and newer, there is no heater control valve.
The fan motor works great, just blows barely-warm air, even at normal operating temp. Help!! Any ideas, anyone?? Is there a more accurate flow test for the heater core than visual only? I'm getting grey hairs on this....Thank you for any help/answers you may have.
