another radi prob
96 xj 4x4 4.0. just replaced my cracked radi with a new oem spectrum one, everything went in great but now im having a problem with it overheating to about 250 the reservoir seems to keep filling up with fluid but not dispersing throughout the system. has anyone else had this problem if so what was it? could my water pump gone out? im at a loss. thank you

Sounds to me you either have air in your coolant system or your thermostat is stuck closed ... If you replace your thermostat make sure you get a mopar one after you replaced your radiator did you burp the system?

The Idea is that as it cools, it draws the coolant in the overflow back past a one way valve in the cap into the rad.
My old Renix jeep can be supper hard to burp. Sometimes I'll park at an angle with my filler as high as possible. Run till warm. Let cool, top off. Repeat. Yours shouldn't be that tough though.
Btw I've seen pics of pump impellers so wasted there was nothing left but a flat disk!

no i have not burped it yet how do i go about doing that? this my first radiator change thank you also this is a new Tstat only 3-5 moths and it is a mopar

Let it idle with the rad cap off and keep the rad filled. When it gets hot, air coolant will "burp" out the rad. Install a new rad cap. Check coolant level in both the bottle and rad for several days when the motor is cold.
