ok so i finally had enough of my saggy liner rubbing my head...id get shocked from the static when i got out or touched someone.....anyway its been nice out so it it came. now this is an 89 xj wagoneer limitedand ive been tossing around the idea of an overhead console/liner from a newer(97+ xj) but i didnt want to bother with the wiring even though i know most jeeps you can add the options and the plug is likely to be there but as far as i knew they didnt have OHC till '90 which is why i was surprised to see a plug with about 4 wires taped up front when i pulled the liner

so the question is what functions did the early consoles come with....compass(built into the unit just needs a live wire)....temp(not sure if mine had the probe and if it does it aint behine the bumper) and those are the only thing i could think of and being a renix era xj im hesitant to buy a console from an OBDII xj

so if anyones done this input would be appreciated and yes i know search and such i did(naxja,jeepforum,cherokeeforum and cherokeetalk) but i didnt seem to see any strait answers if they were there sorry ive been welding outside allday so im a little out of it right now and the answers may have just skipped my attention
