Default Another Noise Riddle from the Sphinx....

A subtle clicking noise...similar to the sound of an engine with low motor oil...the oil level is not low.....happens in drive, not while revving the engine in park..... happens while pressing the gas pedal, not while coasting....appears the higher the rpm the faster the clicking.....I don't have a clue

Thanx...I would guess it has to be something that engages when I accelerate... but I don't know enough about that area of the drive train to have an idea of what it could be... been an XJ owner for about 8 months now so odd noises don't concern me as much as they used to....
