Default Another dash light thread

so my dash lights quit about a month ago, got on here read around for a while. Tried unplugging the rear wiper switch then replacing the fuse, voila! Had lights, took it wheeling that night did fine for a few hours then they started flickering and boom nothing. No dash lights or heater control lights. So this past weekend I tried unhooking the radio and heater controls, checked every fuse in the jeep. Still nothing, any tips or advice where to go from here? Pull the cluster? Could a bad bulb cause this? Or a headlight switch?

i had a headlight switch going bad on my 98 jeep that caused the dash to flicker and go out.

when i bought my 96 (after wrecking the 98) it had similar issues but now after replacing the switch i am not sure its the problem.

my problem seems to be located in the over head console and i am not sure how or what to look to fix it.

i can get my dash to stop working just by reaching up and moving the over head console. in fact thats how i found out i was running the jeep the dash was not working but i left it running cause i tested the alternator to make sure it was good and i moved on to checking out a bulb in the console got it put in correctly (still no dash gauges and such) moved the console to reattach it and the dash started to work.

i can repeat the issue just by moving the console so not sure what the issue is have not removed it to take a better look.

but that might be where your issue is.

thanks Ryan, I may try to replace it this weekend and see if it does the trick.
