if the numbers are the same and the plugs match it should,try un pluging the alt while its running and plug it back in see what happens,if it was me id try this b4 condeming the ecm just my 2c worth

i would try this but there is no plug on my alt. just a black box that the ground wire and 2 14ga wires go into. and there are 4 nuts that hold it on. i found a ecu 108.00 plus tax going to go get it in a week so we shall see.also been running funny too. when coming to a light the rpm's start coming down. then at about 1000rpms it bounces back up to 1500 then drops to idol rpms. and thats with me not touching the gas. only the brke pedal.

yes i have and nothing. the onoy thing i see wrong useing my scanner is that. the o2 sensor is reading 1.000 while the front is between .548 and .748 so i dont have a clue but thank you for your help

make sure you clean all connections and check with a dmm to make sure you are overcharging. Also clean all ecm grounds too.

ok did clean the connections. i am useing a dmm to check voltage. and where are the ecu grounds just to make sure i didnt miss them

well cleaned 5 more gounds today by the ecu and still running around 14.40 with it at an idol with nothing on. gonna call on a ecu tomarrow.

14.4 isn't overcharging, it's only actually charging 1.8 v. Make sure to have your battery tested, but 14.4 is good, as long as no more than what, .3 volts is AC current.
