like the title says what alternator do i need i have an 88 cherokee laredo 2 door with 4.0 and 5 speed power locks nad windows a/c delay head lamps and fog lamps? rock auto gives me amny options including different amps and size cases ?

 

Put the one with the biggest amount of amps or volts they carry... Not sure about the case size look by model specific

 

i searched by 1988 jeep cherokee laredo 4.0l and i got a ton of case size choices and amps i will have to measure i guess

 

Pull your old one, go to napa or auto plus, have them match it up. I have the same year jeep and I work at auto plus, I read this earlier and forgot to reply, you best bet is to take it to them.

 

issue is i do not want to patronize any of the auto houses in town all they do is mess orders up and have crap parts

 

Look for the part number off your old alternator get it off a mopar whole sale website
