I'm looking at buying an 01 cherokee off a friend of mine. Apparently it needs an alternator. Turns out the alternator is a hard to find part around here. I have searched on the forum here, and have found limited information on the subject, but are there other model jeeps that has an interchangeable (direct bolt on) alternator? The cheapest I have found so far is 327.00. That also happens to be the only place I have called that has them (other than the dealer at 615.00)

DO you have a local battery shop/ alternator generator shop you could take the ALT to and have them rebuild it ??

300-600 is WAAAY overpriced...

 

For that price, you can get a 125a or 200a from hoalternator.com
