Frame. Control arm holes are wide so you can move it forward or back an inch i think.

Ah so that's what those damn spacers inside there are for...I did a slight weld to hold them in place...Crap oh well guess it doesn't matter since I'll be putting in drop brackets anyways...

You gotta take em out to install the brackets and then re-use them on the brackets, according the directions on RC's site. Mine uses different shims on both sides so i want to measure to see if it's right set up like that. I know the jeep was in a front end collision before so things could be off. I bet those two bolts will snap anyways, cuz they are rusted beyond recognition.

I might take it in for a professional alignment at this new off road shop that opened up around here. I figured they would set the caster right and everything else. Regular shops just won't touch the caster, even when i ask them to.

Mudd, my neighbor who runs a tire/alinement shop says that the shop stocks those in a variety of thicknesses. His shop does four wheel alinements and the rear of many vehicles use them for the rear control arms as well as most of the older solid front axle 4WD vehicles that are coil sprung. So the alinement shop should have what you need.

Hmm maybe i'll take it down to texas to get it aligned. I had it at the dealership and told them specifically to adjust the caster but apparently they forgot and only did the toe-in. It was a free alignment that time so i didn't complain. I'll check with the off road shop and see if they can.

I guess that means I need to buy the new clevises and then pull my lca's out and get the welded ones out and installa new set..lol I wish I had known that s what those were for... MY question is this can't they align the front end without being able to move those clevises at all?

They can do toe-in adjustments but in order to do caster, you need those shoes/shims replaced with whatever thickness. I'm guessing if you do without them, there's a chance the bolt will slide around in that slot or would be knocked out of position if you hit a curb or rock....or deer.

I guess when I get a chance I'll order a new clevis and remove the one I spot welded in place..I just put 2 dots of weld on each so since if I didn't they would bend like mad putting the new LCA's..easy enough to fix..Just time consuming..
