Alignment/Axle Issue
I have a '89 2wd that I picked up a few months ago. Put new tires on it and had an alignment done. The shop that did the alignment said it's out of spec and there's no adjustment. It pulls to the right and it's chewing up the new tires. My question is, how do I fix this? I can't seem to find info on what to replace or repair to get it back to normal. Here's the alignment info after the adjustments:
Left Front:
Camber -0.8
Caster 8
Toe 0.01
Right Front:
Camber -0.6
Caster 8.2
Toe 0.00
So it looks like left camber, right camber and right caster are out of spec. My left front tire is wearing really bad on the edges, especially the outside edge. I'd appreciate any help with this.

Find a better alingment shop first , caster is adjustable with shims cambercwith off set camber bushings or off set ball joints .

I have had the same issue with mine for a while now. 98 XJ sport. All stock. I am chewing my left front tire. It causes vibration (that and the fact that the left front tire happens to have a slow leak...). Vibrations disappeared last time as soon as I put new tires on. Vibrations came back a few thousand miles later and tires started getting chewed again. Had several alignments done in the past year. All with the same feedback that you had. Camber and caster can't be adjusted on a jeep! Last one told me that the only way to do it was to have a body shop "take the car and stretch the frame to realign it"!. And he was serious... I asked him if I could stretch a one dollar bill into the amount of money he was asking for. Anyway, I can't find a shop that knows how to do it properly. Bushings are new, tie rods are new, ball joints seem fine.
My measurements, after the last "alignment" was:
Front left caster: 3.9 (specs 6.1 to 8.1)
Front right caster: 3.7
Front left camber: -0.4 (specs -0.8 to 0.3)
Front right camber: -0.3
I am going to need to replace the tires again but would like to fix the alignment issue first..I may ask the dealer how they charge for this and how they do it but they'll probably be outrageous and then find any excuse to tell me they can't do it without replacing this bushing and this part.
Hope you find a solution.

Take a look at this page, its not hard at all to align a cherokee, I do it in my driveway and I've never had any problems. you can make your own shims to fix caster, as thick as you want. Just check everything yourself, or if you can't, take your cherokee to a shop that knows jeeps, not like a monroe or sears or pep boys or anything..take it to a local shop that deals alot with lifted vehicles. Anyone can say it can't be done if they don't know how to do it. If you suspect worn parts jack the front end up and shake the tires by hand up and down, forward and back to check for play. a bad hub bearing can cause some weird alignment things.

Thanks, I'll check out the page. I was planning on tearing apart the front axle and replacing whatever part or parts were bent. The bearings are new, but I'll pull them out and make sure everything is good.
