Default Alabama Cylinder Head - still in business?

Anyone in the area of Gadsden/Rainbow City, Alabama? I'm trying to find out if Alabama Cylinder Head / Patriot Performance is still in business. I bought a head from them and it still hasn't shown up. Their website is down and I've only gotten voicemail for two weeks.

Not a good sign. Did you pay with a credit card? If so you can probably do a chargeback.

Paid with visa, so money is protected. Just need the head to get my jeep back on the road. Looking for someone that has info of whether or not they're still open for business...

2 weeks and no response at all? I'd call it a day and start the chargeback process right away. Even if they are still in business, I wouldn't want to do business with them after what you've had to deal with already.

Hello,
They have gone out of business! Most of the new castings sold by Clearwater and other head shops came from Alabama Cylinder Heads imports from China. They have been out of stock for some time.

You need to call your credit card provider asap.

I hate posting in ancient threads, but I talked to promaxx today and they have the head for the 4.0 in stock and ready to ship. They quoted me $671 plus shipping.

If you're looking for a cylinder head, I recently replaced mine and I got mine through J&C enterprises ready to install for a little under $500 with shipping. I've got about 2000 miles on it so far and it's working great

What mileage was your Jeep at when you had to replace the head and what were your symptoms? I have an 01 with 137,000 on it and I'm just curious.

My jeep was at 123,000 and I had just bought it. I was paranoid that the cylinder head would crack since I heard that they were a problem with '00-'01 XJ's so I checked the coolant level and oil a few times a week. About a month after I bought it I checked the oil fill cap and it had a milky substance on it... Looked through the oil fill hole with the jeep running and I could see coolant weeping out of the head between the 3rd and 4th cylinders into the oil. I never noticed the coolant level dropping like others have. That was about a week after I overheated it too.. I learned my lesson and overhauled the cooling system when I replaced the head too.

Dang man sorry for your luck. Hopefully I don't run into those problems.

Well I have peace of mind now I guess.. And if you take care of your engine, chances are that you won't have any issues.
