Air conditioning dash connectors?

Air conditioning dash connectors?
The AC in my '94 does not work. It appears to be in excellent condition but the compressor does not come on.
The car is from Calif. so I'm thinking the DPO used AC regularly. Here in Michigan I don't really care much but my wife would like it to work if she needs the car.
I will not buy $500 in parts but I'm thinking it is more likely an unplugged electrical connector behind the dash or underhood. All the vacuum controls work fine.
Any ideas where to start?
