I have a problem with my fuel tank. It is a diesel, but I guess it is the same on all the XJ’s.
So when I fuel up after about 500km, I get about 40L in without a problem but then it goes very slow. I only manage to fill 0.5L and then wait for it to flow down. I can then fill 0.5L more but have to wait again for it to go down before I continue. I know that there is more space in the fuel tank, and this is just a very complicated way to get diesel in the tank. I have tried to open the little air vent on the side, with the red cap on it, but it does not improve it at all.

Anyone had a similar problem that can help me with this?

 

The little air vent on the side with the red cap? It sounds like you're trying to put fuel in a portable tank instead of the Jeep tank, remove the nozzle from the portable tank and place it in the on board tank and it should work.
