Well I have to swap my rear axle again, and this time I found a non-c clip XJ 44 for a decent price, but it doesn't have the backing plates or any of the brake components. Can I swap over all the brake components from my 29 spline 8.25? I realize I'll have to modify the backing plates some, but I don't know to what extent, so if someone could enlighten me, that would be great. Thanks.

Find a ZJ with a D44a at your local JY and grab the disc brake parts.

I figured that would be an answer. I can try that, but I would like this to be as quick as possible, I'm in a time crunch.... I need to have it done in a week so I can get back to college. I understand that a week is a long time, but I also want to make time for my family, and all the homework I have over break. So, is what I proposed possible? Or is that off the table? Thanks

Is the disc swap from a d44a a direct swap though...?

I found on another site that as long as I ream out the center section to make room for the larger bearing, the 8.25 backing plate will bolt up, and thus all the other 8.25 break components will work with it. I think that's what I'll do since I don't have a lot of time.
