I just bought a 95 xj a month ago. The front running lights would come on periodically when switched on. I thought the switch itself was bad so I replaced and installed a new headlight switch.

After installing that switch now they won't come on. I have head lights, turn signals front/rear, rear running lights and brake lights. I have no front runnin lights or license plate lights.

I have replaced all the front bulbs.

Something wierd is that the aftermarket stereo seems to be wired into the headlight/dimmer switch. Could this be causing me not to have running lights? If so how do I correct the problem??

Cut & tape the wire for the dimmer.

That is exactly the problem, cut and tape the dimmer circuit wire to the head unit.

Would either of you know what color that wire would be so I cut the right one?

Usually it's orange coming out of the head unit.
