Default Aftermarket and HomeBuilt Front Bumper's

Really good forum here. Bought a 96 XJ about a month ago and really need to build a sturdy front and for that matter rear bumpers.

I have mig and stick welders, and everything it takes to build whatever I want, would just like to see some pictures of bumpers others are running, whether aftermarket or homebuilt.

I plan on adding a winch in the future, but would like to see bumpers with and w/o winch mounts. I can add winch mounts in while I'm building it.

My front rail, I can't call it a frame as thin as it is, it messed up from a crash, as I bought it as a prior salvage, and I will have to make some type of plating to get the support for the bumper, but that is not a problem.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Here is the one im in the process of making,It is extended 5 inches from the grill and is 57 inches long. The top of the bumper is going to have steel diamond plate on it and so are the sides.

And this is the look that i am going for

Here's some pics of my homebuilt bumper, I've had it on a couple different xj's now and pulled on it hard and seems to be sturdy. Pics are pretty self explanitory.

Nah I don't need no stinkin' stickers.

Seriously those are all things on my Jeep or sites I belong to and maybe my favorite sports team. The Texan was a gift from my daughter.

Thanks guys, these are giving me some good ideas to use when I get started on mine.

Need to get the cut-off blade on the grinder and trim the front of the fenders and flares to get them out of the way.

Default Bumper - nice

Hey,
This bumper looks awesome, and exactly what I was looking to build. It looks somewhat simple, but do you have plans? It looks like you based it off square tubing and then put sheets around it. Im new to building this stuff but im not stupid, so If you had any tips or anything I would greatly appreciate it if you could send some. Thanks!
Kevin.

Thumbs down Custom or Store Bought?

Nice! Are they home brew, or store bought? I'd like some detailed pics to whip one up for my '90 XJ. Looks Exactly like what I've been looking for.
Thanks!
