Adjust length of shifter pull

Adjust length of shifter pull
So I replaced my transmission a couple months ago. With the new transmission the length of pull is different than stock so that I can shift all the way from park down to "3" but it will not go into "12" and I cannot figure out how to adjust the length of pull. I have tried playing with the cable adjustment down on the transmission but all that changes is the start and end of the shift, not the actual length of the shift. Is there a way to adjust this?
